Dear Families,
Our alphabet calendar calendar continues! This week, it was Excellent Experiment Day, Fairy Tales and Fruit Day, Green and Games Day, Hat Day, and Inside Out and Ice Cold Treat Day! This week was also a very busy week! Grade 3 students took the Mathematics MCAS assessment, and some of our Superstars had artwork selected for the district wide art show at Haverhill High School! Thank you to Ms. Morra for your hard work and support for our Superstars!
Next week, students will begin end of year assessments. For example, students will begin completing the iReady Diagnostic in both Reading and Math. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn and connect to peers and their teachers and staff at Walnut Square. Our attendance for May has been great! Our current attendance rate is 94.51%. Thank you so much for making attendance a priority!
Haverhill Public Schools is having an attendance “Spring Challenge.” This May to encourage everyone to end the year strong, all K-8 schools will challenge students to attend daily on time each day. Those students who make it all 22 days will receive a special “Spring Challenge” reward. Please continue to encourage your child to attend school on time every day unless medically excused, and please reach out if we can support you in any way.
