Dear Families,
It’s been another busy week at Walnut Square. Our attendance has rebounded, and our weekly attendance rates are looking great! Congratulations to Avery for winning this week’s prize for the HPS Attendance Matters contest!
As we welcome spring, I’d like to review some of our routines and expectations at Walnut Square School. Please remember that morning drop-off is between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM. Supervision begins at 8:45 AM, as there are no staff members to provide supervision before that time. When dropping children off in the morning, please note that the area between the signs is a live drop-off zone; family members should not park or exit their vehicles in this area. If you would like to park and get out of your car, please do so in a designated parking area outside of the signs. Additionally, in the afternoon, there is no parking allowed between the signs. Thank you for your cooperation!
I would also like to remind families about the importance of daily reading at home. Reading every night with your child is crucial for their development. It helps improve their vocabulary, comprehension skills, and overall academic performance. Additionally, reading fosters a love of literature and encourages critical thinking. To support this essential habit, I invite all Superstars to complete the Superstar Book Review. By filling out this log, you will contribute to a wonderful resource for our school community that will inspire others to read! Please use the following link to complete the form after reading each book: https://forms.gle/iDTbdMb6mkwBkmAu6. We currently have 42 book recommendations available to help you choose engaging stories. Thank you for participating and promoting the love of reading!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Jen Rubera
