Dear Families,
Our first week back from vacation was wonderful! It was great to see everyone in good spirits and healthy. We wrapped up February with strong attendance, and we hope that illness is behind us. For March, Haverhill Public Schools is hosting an attendance contest where students can earn prizes! Please click on the links below to view the flyers.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Walnut Square. On Wednesday, March 12th, students will have the opportunity to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair. If parents go to scholastic.com/bf/walnutsquareelementarysch, you can set up electronic payments for your children instead of sending them with money. Mrs. Greene has sent that information home with students. Please contact her if you have any questions.
There are 2 fundraisers happening to support Walnut Square. There is a Music Bingo Fundraiser tomorrow at the Haverhill Elks, and we hope to see you there! The doors open at 6:oo pm, and Music Bingo begins at 7:00 pm. The Walnut Square PTO is having a Walnut Square t-shirt fundraiser from now until March 27th. Lastly, I would like to remind families about the routines and expectations after dismissal. Many families choose to stay and play, especially with the warmer weather. However, with the presence of snow banks, some students have been picking up snow and throwing it. Unfortunately, this past week, a student was injured when another student threw a snow/ice ball. Please remind your children to follow playground expectations so that everyone can remain safe and enjoy their time. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring this.
Sincerely,
Jen Rubera
Principal
