Dear Families,

Happy Friday! I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the beautiful changes that come with this season. While I generally prefer for our students to have outdoor recess, I must admit that I’m grateful for the rain today—our community definitely needed it!

At Walnut Square, we utilize the  Child Care Weather Watch Chart to determine whether recess will be held indoors or outdoors. This chart is essential in ensuring that our students have a safe and enjoyable recess experience while also considering their comfort in varying weather conditions. I’m also pleased to report that our school attendance continues to be strong! Thank you to all the families for your commitment to ensuring that your children attend school every day. Regular attendance is crucial for students’ academic and social development, and it helps to create a vibrant learning community.

Additionally, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of the PTO during our Thanksgiving Pie Sale, which concluded today. We sold an impressive 181 pies! Your participation not only contributes to the success of our events but also supports the various programs and activities organized by the PTO. Together, we are creating a wonderful learning environment for our children.

As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving season, the Walnut Square PTO is excited to kick off our Thanksgiving Pie Sale! This delicious fundraiser not only gives you the chance to enjoy homemade pies but also supports our school and enriches our students’ educational experiences.  This fundraiser will help us raise funds for various educational resources and activities that enrich our students’ learning environment. Together, we can make a difference!  Thank you for your continued support. We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, joy, and delicious pies!
