Dear Families,
And just like that, it’s JUNE! This time of year is always bittersweet for me. I am looking forward to the summer with my family and friends, but I will miss everyone in our Walnut Square Community…especially our 3rd graders who will be attending Pentucket Lake next year! I look forward to the Grade 3 Promotion Ceremony next week as our final time together. Families, we will have folding chairs set up, but you may prefer to bring your chairs for both comfort and in the event we don’t have enough (adult sized) chairs. I’m also looking forward to the Kindergarten Teddy Bear Promotion Picnic on Monday! As we wind down the school year, there are many resources to share for the summer. For students who are entering Kindergarten, there is a Kindergarten event scheduled for June 25th. Please click here to learn more! HPS has a summer reading list available, and you can click here to view it. Haverhill Public Library has a lot of resources, and you can visit https://haverhillpl.org/to explore. Another great resource to check out is the Haverhill Promise website. We started June with a strong attendance rate of 94.52%! Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn and connect to peers and their teachers and staff at Walnut Square. During the month of May, we had 50 students who had perfect attendance- 0 absences, 0 tardies, and 0 dismissals! Thank you so much for making attendance a priority!
