Dear Families,
We’ve had a busy and fun week celebrating! Thank you all for your support and participation to make our “Spread the Love of Reading” Spirit Week a success! Many pictures were posted on the Walnut Square Facebook page and Walnut Square Instagram page. I hope you will check them out! It was also so nice to see you all at Parent/Teacher conferences yesterday evening. I also hope you all have a healthy and safe February break with your families to recharge and connect and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, February 27th.
Haverhill Public Schools has teamed up with Qustodio, a student safety and digital wellbeing platform that will help your child grow with technology. Directions and more information is included below.
Our PTO has been working hard to fundraise and support enrichment opportunities at Walnut Square! Here are just a few updates:
- Our next virtual meeting will be Wednesday, March 1st from 5:00-6:00 pm. A link will be sent when we return to school.
- If You Give a Teacher a Pizza Raffle is going on now! Thank you to all who have returned tickets! All tickets are due on Tuesday, February 28th.
- PTO will be hosting a Read-a-thon fundraiser. Notices went home this week. The Read-a-thon will take place on Friday, March 3rd. The fundraiser will be due by Friday, March 10th.
- There will be a Music Bingo night at the Haverhill Elks on Saturday, March 4th. This fundraising event is for adults only. Thanks to the generous donation of Ryan Ricci and Adam Desmarais (Haverhill High alumni), 100% of the proceeds will benefit Walnut Square! Please email rubera@haverhill-ps.org to purchase tickets/reserve a table of 10.
Kindergarten registration has opened! Please click here to learn more and to register your child!
As with all family updates, this will be posted on our school website, https://walnutsquare.I-ps.org/ and sent to you via School Messenger and Remind. In addition to the Walnut Square School website, you can also “like” our Facebook page, Walnut Square Elementary School, and follow us on Instragram @walnutsquaresuperstars to get updates and see all of the fun and learning taking place at Walnut Square! Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued partnership in your student’s learning.
Sincerely,
Jen Rubera

Qustodio Platform Information
At Haverhill Public Schools we’re committed to providing a learning experience that allows your child to grow and flourish with technology.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with a student safety and digital wellbeing platform that is now protecting the devices your child uses at school, ensuring they stay safe and secure.
We’re happy to invite you to join us in this world of digital wellbeing by giving you access to the Qustodio Parents App. This will provide you with full visibility on how your child is using their school devices. Simply create your account to see your personalized dashboard.
To learn more about Qustodio Parents App click here
Please note: Sign up following the link above on a web browser before you install the app on your mobile device. Be sure to use the same email address we have on file for you.
How do I create my account?
Just click on the ‘Create your account’ button above and then follow the steps shown on screen.
What can I do with Qustodio?
You can view your child’s activity on their school devices, read digital safety guidance from experts, and remotely switch off the internet using the ‘Pause’ button during hours designated by your district.
Do I need to configure Qustodio on my child’s school device to turn on protection?
No, your child’s device is already protected. By setting up your account with Qustodio, you aren’t turning protection on or off. Your new account provides you with visibility of your child’s activity on their school device.
Do I need to pay anything?
It is completely free to create your account and get visibility on your child’s school devices. You can also get visibility on two family devices for free – with the option of adding Premium features.
How does Qustodio use my child’s data?
Qustodio is COPPA compliant and does not share personal data with third parties.
