Dear Families,
We are thankful for you!
As we prepare to take time off from school on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th for the Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has helped to restore a routine for showing up to school while supporting students and families.
Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security, especially after the chaotic transitions experienced over the last two years.
As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers.
We thank:
- Our students and their families who do their best to show up to class every day even when it isn’t easy.
- Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
- Our entire school staff who work together to ensure we are healthy and safe, feel a sense of community, and experience the excitement of an engaging learning environment.
- Our many, many healers and helpers – the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
May these days off be restful and healing.
When we return to school on Monday, November 28th, there are 25 days of school between Thanksgiving break and winter break. Every day children attend school is a chance to win a raffle! There are some great prizes that include Amazon gift cards! Please click on the link below to view the flier:
The Walnut Square PTO is having a dollar fundraiser to support students and staff at Walnut Square. Students received the envelope and directions today. The goal is to get 25 signatures and collect $25! If you get all 25, your name will be entered into a raffle to win a prize! Please send the envelope back to school by Friday, December 9, 2022. Thank you!
Looking for something fun to do as a family this holiday season? How about a holiday light drive thru?! Not only is it a wonderful thing to do as a family, but you can help support the Walnut Square PTO! How does it work? Use the included link, choose the date that WORKS BEST FOR YOU ( Now- December 30th), get your hot cocoa ready and let the holiday lights make your spirits bright! $2 per car goes to Walnut Square for field trips, supplies and fun!
At Walnut Square, we have a closet with extra clothes for students. We are in need of the following items: packages of new underwear size 4-8, socks, and unisex clothing, sized 4-8 . If you would like to donate any of the items, please bring them to school.
As with all family updates, this will be posted on our school website, https://walnutsquare.I-ps.org/ and sent to you via School Messenger and Remind.
