Action Requested:  Complete the Fall 2026 Family Feedback Survey

Dear Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!  Four-day weeks are packed with learning and activities, making every moment in the classroom count.  Daily school attendance and arriving on time set our Superstars up for success, as each morning begins with Breakfast After the Bell, morning routines, warm-up activities, and important instruction that build a strong foundation for the day.  When children attend school consistently and on time, they not only keep pace with their lessons and avoid the stress of catching up, but they also develop valuable life habits like responsibility and routine.  Just as importantly, being present each day strengthens their sense of community and connection with supportive staff and classmates.  I am so grateful for your partnership in helping our Superstars build these lifelong habits and make the absolute most of every learning opportunity!

Thank you so much to all of the families who attended parent-teacher conferences yesterday!  It was a true pleasure connecting with you to celebrate your children's progress and discuss their goals for the rest of the school year.  Strong family engagement is one of the most powerful tools we have in helping our Superstars learn, grow, and thrive both academically and socially.  When we work together as a team, our students feel supported, confident, and inspired to reach their full potential.  I deeply appreciate your time, dedication, and ongoing partnership in making our school community a place where every child can shine!

Notices went home this week about our Title 1 Event- a nature walk with Pentucket Lake School!  I hope you'll join us for a nature walk around the Lake Pentucket trail while enjoying the beautiful foliage.  This is a great opportunity for Walnut Square Families and Pentucket Families to meet.   After the walk, families will receive information and tips for experiencing nature together.  This event will be held rain or shine, so proper dress and footwear are highly recommended!  The trail is 1.1 miles long, and carriages and bikes are not recommended as it is a hiking trail.  Please leave pets at home.  Please RSVP by Friday, October 23, 2026.  You can sign up here:  https://forms.gle/65taRLN84hdtxk8K7

Today, we had a wonderful time celebrating all of our Superstars in grades 1-3 who participated in September's home reading challenge (We'll celebrate Kindergarten students next week)!  We are so proud of the time they spent reading at home and tracking their books.  Let's keep that momentum going!  Once your child finishes reading a book, please keep track of the number of books read and help them complete the online Superstar Reading Log here:  Superstar Reading Log.  Let's see if we can read more books in October than in September!

Our Fall 2026 Family Feedback Survey is open until October 31st!  Currently, 11% of our families have completed the survey.  It is a brief, 12-question survey, and your feedback and input are valued and appreciated.  It will be reviewed by our Site Council, PTO, and school and district staff.  Your input is important and helps guide our school improvement plan goals, inform decision-making, and support our Superstars and their families.   Let's see if we can break a record this year!  Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jen Rubera
