Family Update: Pumpkin Parade, Fall 26 Family Feedback Survey, Mark Your Calendar, Superstar Reading Log
Dear Families,
It was an incredibly busy week here at Walnut Square! Last night, we celebrated 3 of our Superstars who were selected as finalists for the Hillies Stand Up, Speak Up Art Contest! Congratulations to Jose, Logan, and Lennox for this achievement, and you did an amazing job leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the Hillie Pledge at the Haverhill School Committee meeting yesterday evening!
It is also time to complete the Fall 2026 Family Feedback Survey: Fall 2026 Family Feedback Survey. Your insight and perspective are important to helping us continuously grow and strengthen our school community. The feedback you share will be reviewed by our Site Council, PTO, Walnut Square staff, and district leadership within Haverhill Public Schools to help guide our school improvement goals, inform decision-making, and ensure we are best supporting every Superstar and family. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts with us!
I am excited to invite families to our Pumpkin Parade on Wednesday, October 28, at 11:00 AM, where students will parade around the schoolyard with their grade levels. To ensure a fun, safe, inclusive, and comfortable experience for everyone, students are welcome to wear orange, Superstar-themed attire, or a costume that is easy to move in, simple to put on and take off, free of weapons or violent themes, and includes only vision-safe masks. Families are welcome inside the fence to watch the festivities; however, in an effort to allow dismissal procedures to run as smoothly and safely as possible for all students, your help and cooperation is requested.. We kindly ask that guardians do not dismiss students early and instead wait on the playground until our official 11:35 AM dismissal time to pick up their children, ensuring a safe, seamless, and secure departure for our whole school community. The long weekend is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy a few great books. Once your child finishes reading a book, please help them complete the online Superstar Reading Log here: Superstar Reading Log. Let's see if we can read more books in October than in September! I hope you all have a safe and happy long weekend, and I’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday, October 13th!
Sincerely,
Jen Rubera
Principal
