Family Update: Early Release Tomorrow, Attendance Celebration, and Reminders about Morning Drop Off and Dismissal

Dear Walnut Square Families,

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30th, is an early release day for students, with dismissal set for 11:35 AM.  I kindly ask for your support in ensuring that all of our Superstars are picked up promptly at school or met at their bus stop on time, as our staff will be participating in afternoon professional development.  Tomorrow is also a very exciting day because we are holding our first attendance celebration!  Every Superstar who is present at school tomorrow will receive a special treat, so be sure to come to school and see what fun surprises await!

I  would also like to take this opportunity to remind families of our regular school hours and important safety procedures here at Walnut Square.  Daily supervision on the playground begins at 8:45 AM.  Please do not drop off or leave your child prior to 8:45 AM, as there is no staff on duty to monitor them, and leaving children unattended presents a serious safety concern.  Please note that while Girls on the Run practice occurs on Tuesday mornings, the coaches are focused solely on running their program and are not available to supervise the general playground.  Finally, on regular school days, dismissal takes place at 3:15 PM.  Please make sure you or a designated caregiver are present at school or waiting at the bus stop at dismissal time so that all of our Superstars get home safely.
