Summer Superstar Reading Log

Dear Families,

Can you believe we are already about a month into our summer break?   We hope you and your children are having a wonderful, relaxing summer filled with sunshine, fun, and plenty of adventures.  As we settle into summer, we wanted to send a friendly check-in and reminder to keep up the amazing momentum with our Superstar Reading Log.

We have been using this reading log all year long to track the number of books Superstars are reading, and summer is the absolute perfect time to keep those great habits going.  Reading just a little bit every day does wonders for keeping your child's mind active, preventing the summer slide, and ensuring they head into the next school year feeling confident and ready.  After your child finishes reading a book, or after you read one together, please take a quick moment to log it using our familiar link at https://forms.gle/4Av9o9Zy6JtaRyVx5.

If you are looking to refresh your reading list, we highly recommend taking a trip to the Haverhill Public Library.  They have an absolutely amazing children's room filled with incredible books, graphic novels, audiobooks, and learning kits.  The library is also hosting fantastic, free summer programming and events for kids of all ages, including weekly activities, storytimes, and their own summer reading challenges.  It is a wonderful, air-conditioned spot to spend an afternoon and find your child's next favorite book to add to our school log.

When we return to school in the fall, we will be hosting a celebration to honor our dedicated readers.  Students who continue to complete their reading logs over the summer will receive special school-wide recognition as a Superstar Reader, along with exciting prizes and rewards to celebrate their dedication.  Thank you so much for your continued partnership and for helping your child stay connected to the joy of reading.
