Principal’s Post

Dear Walnut Square Families,

As we close out October and look forward to the upcoming month, there is so much to share!  This week, the Haverhill Fire Department visited our third-grade classrooms to teach valuable lessons on fire safety in their homes, which was a wonderful experience for our students.   We also enjoyed the nature walk around Lake Pentucket with Pentucket Lake School!  Next week, we have our upcoming Walnut Square Site Council meeting and PTO meeting scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:15 PM via Google Meet.  Here is the Google Meet joining info: https://meet.google.com/bzn-dwrf-dzq.  Our agenda will focus on reviewing the presentation shared with the School Committee on October 9th.  A major focus of this meeting will be a presentation on Behavior Expectations and Discipline Practices, including discussions on school safety, fostering a school environment characterized by tolerance and respect for all groups, and the continued integration of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) at Walnut Square.  Following the Site Council meeting is the PTO meeting, scheduled from 6:15-7:15 pm.  The PTO is an essential partner in everything we do, helping to fund school events, provide teacher support, and build a stronger community.  Their work directly contributes to a better learning environment for every Superstar!  I encourage all families to attend the next PTO and consider becoming involved.

Family involvement—whether through the PTO, the Site Council, or simply completing a survey—is critical.  Speaking of which, your voice remains a crucial part of our improvement efforts.  60% of our families have already completed the Fall 2025 Family Feedback Survey—thank you!  However, the deadline is today, and your feedback is vital for our Site Council to evaluate and prioritize school needs.  Please help us reach 100% participation by completing the brief survey as soon as possible via this link:   Please click here to complete the survey.
