Dear Families,
We had another busy week here at Walnut Square! Thank you to our Food Services Department and Wellness Committee for kicking off our exciting new Lunch Labs program this past Monday! The event at Walnut Square was an absolute success, and the students had an awesome time sampling October’s Harvest of the Month: caramelized pears. It was wonderful to see so many of our young learners engage with their food, learn about the great nutrition and health benefits of pears, and enthusiastically cast their votes with a sticker. This initiative is a fun, hands-on way to encourage healthy eating, and we are so proud of our students for being such adventurous eaters! We can’t wait to bring more Lunch Labs to our schools!
We ended the week with Pumpkin Day, and it was an absolutely wonderful day! I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our families for joining us and making our annual Pumpkin Parade such a huge success today. Seeing the smiles on our Superstars’ faces as they proudly marched was the highlight of the week. Your waves and support from the sidelines truly energized our Superstars as they marched. Beyond the fun, this event offered wonderful benefits: it was a fantastic display of community, bringing families together to share in an annual tradition; it boosted the students’ school spirit and pride; and it encouraged creativity and social-emotional growth. It’s moments like these that reinforce the amazing spirit and strength of our school community. Thank you for celebrating the season with us and for always supporting our Superstars!
Onto our next event- the Nature Walk Around Lake Pentucket! Walnut Square is a Title 1 School, and I hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, October 29th for our Title 1 Fall Nature Walk followed by our Title 1 Annual Meeting beginning at 4:00 pm! This is a great opportunity for Walnut Square Families and Pentucket Families to meet. After the hike, families are invited to attend the Title 1 Annual Meeting that will be held in the Pentucker Lake library.
