We had a great week back from Thanksgiving break! On Tuesday, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students had a visit from Lt. Ray and Firefighter Miles for a presentation about fire safety. Students learned about meeting spots, using their senses to help keep them safe, and they got to practice moving when there is smoke. Thank you to the Haverhill Fire Department for your visit! We started the attendance raffle. There are 25 days of school between Thanksgiving break and winter break. Every day children attend school is a chance to win a raffle! There are some great prizes that include Amazon gift cards! Please click on the link below to view the flyer:

Walnut Square Superstars have also been using iReady in their daily lessons. i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the progress our students are making in i-Ready Personalized Instruction! This week, the following students completed 30 or more minutes of Lesson Time-on-Task in either Reading or Mathematics! This is great progress toward our weekly goal of 30–49 minutes of Lesson Time-on-Task. Congratulations!

At Walnut Square, we have a closet with extra clothes for students. We are in need of the following items: packages of new underwear size 4-8, socks, and unisex clothing, sized 4-8
