This week in Letterland, students will continue building words and sentences using word families ending in -et, -ell, & -eck. In Math, students will continue to practice counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s while looking for number patterns within our 100’s chart. Keep counting at home! Students will begin to explore insects with a focus on ants in Science this week. And finally, students will write about the book Hey, Little Ant by visualizing, comparing, and inferring in Writing.
Grade 1 News
We are so excited to have all students back in class every day and are looking forward to meeting our new students! Hopefully seeing familiar faces from last year will help ease their transition. This week, first grade is focusing on establishing a new routine while keeping everyone safe at school. We will be reviewing place value and problem solving in math, and all previously introduced long vowel spellings and tricky words in Letterland. In writing we will go back to writing some narrative stories, as well as work on writing strong sentences with proper capitals, punctuation and handwriting.
Grade 2 News
We are so excited to have you all back with us! The next couple of weeks we will get to know each other and establish routines. This week we will discuss how we can be a friend to the Earth! Happy April!
Have a wonderful week!
